Ahead of schedule on the humorous self-portraits.
The honorable Ray Still encouraged me to post early, so here you go.
Hope it brings a smile and chuckle (along with the concern for my mental and emotional well-being!)
Let me know if it worked!
Thanks!
-Tim

And for comparison...

Your craziness is indeed going off the Richter Tim. But it helps other guys like me feel just THAT much more sane hahaha. Now you are making me feel self conscious by staring at your "horse" much too long.

Im going to go now

Tim you either have a death wish (casinos) or don't want any more kids riding a stick like that at your age. Good fun anyway!

Tim,
It's hard to add to such descriptive words as "sick," "crazy," plus "concern about your emotional and mental well being." They're all so accurate .
What scares me most is that I understand you and really like both of these.
Please keep it up (meaning your humorously degenerate self-portraits).

Mucho thanks to you six!^^^^^^

Albert - Just be sure to visit me at the home on Sundays!

Eric - Ha! Eyes off my horsey! She and I are just friends!

Kenneth - Thanks for weighing in! Chalk one more score for the "demented' column!

Peter - No death wish. Although a nice coma might be relaxing! Glad you enjoy the fun of it! (The shot; not a coma. ha-ha!)

Charlie - While I worry about being taken seriously after posting these, I must say, you are right, why start worrying now?!?! Life's too short. Glad you like 'em, and I truly do appreciate the encouragement!

Charles - Thank you, Charles. To me, that spells s-u-c-c-e-s-s!

Tim,

your wrong...very wrong!!!!

i think this is cool, for once im in favor of the B&W version, the colour version is a bit confusing with all the bright primaries going on.

it took me a while but your leg position seems to mimic that of tina turner

Thanks for the responses, y'all!^^^

Martyn - Thank you! I try to wear the brightes colors I can on these. Of course, I thought black would be better for the cowboy theme this time, however. Glad to hear you prefer the b/w.

Bob - And that, my friend, is all I'm aiming for! Thank you!

Larix - Thanks! Actually, the boots are quite nice, but I knew they'd show up funky for this processing and shot. They're actually made from ostrich. Bought 'em in Puerto Vallarta at the famous Rolling Stone shop. I also have standard cow leather, plus alligator, and snakeskin! I went through a phase! Mostly wear thongs now! No, NOT that kind of thong! Foot thongs!

T-bone1: I find the image processing interesting in these fun photos. They seem a little gritty and edgy. The color one works better because of the contrast between the hat and the ceiling. Try bringing down the highlights above the hat in the b&w version for more impact.

If you had taken this photo outside, in a grassy area, viewers could easily imagine the subject cavorting on a funny farm.

Great idea on the highlights above me. I'll give that a whirl. I really do go back and consider advice given here.
Regarding the gritty processing, I was trying to back it off for a while. I spent considerable time reworking many of the images. It's funny though how reactions went. Photographers seemed to prefer the smoother images, but everyone else liked them WAY overcooked. So anyway, I'm trying to get a middle ground, so to speak. After they've been posted here, for the most part it's the non-photogs who will be seeing them, so I guess I've kind of decided to lean toward pleasing that eye a bit more.
I'm glad you mentioned the location, too. I actually planned to do this at a horse ring where contests are held. I decided against it since I originally planned to wear whitey-tightey's instead of shorts. Not a good idea for an outside shoot! Changed my mind at the last minute, and went with a child's room instead. Gotta retain SOME self-dignity! haha!

I like the color one the best. Do you have the clothes hanging in your closet? Where do you get your inspiration?

Ha! Yes, these are my real clothes. Not generally worn together in this fashion, however!
Inspiration? Just kinda naturally twisted, I guess!

Ah Tim. Going off your medication again, I see... I do believe that you should wear your leather chaps when you ride her next time. Like you did back in '04.

The picture is great. I truly believe that you are wasting your talent. That sign should say Wrong Way, instead of One Way. Whaddu think?

I like the B&W one for the book.

Well, it came down to this choice: Chaps or shorts. You don't get both, haha! EWWWW! Didn't think y'all wanted to see me in chaps only!

Wrong Way, One Way.....or more likely NO Way!
