Found this scene as I was walking in the Sonora Desert Museum. It seems interesting to me. Does this pic do anything to you guys? Any comments and critiques are welcomed, even if its bad

Thanks! No I didn't use any extra lighting, the sun was straight up, so it made the sharp edges glow. Also made it glow a bit more during processing.

I took the liberty of cropping the picture and now I call it "jaws."

The crop is infinitely stronger, I was going to suggest something like that before I even saw it. Yes, it looks like a monster about to eat me, and I love it!

Thanks nugeny and floris. The crop does look better. Here's my 2 version for the crop. Which one works better?

Hey Chikku,

A very cool plant. I like the lighting in this very much. In your 2 crop versions, you need to watch for bright spots like in the upper left side in your first crop. Then in the second, watch having something just barely poke into the scene (which goes for any shot) that you have in the lower bottom right. Notice how much more Robert left in that same spot in his crop.

The crops definately the right idea, and the one closest to Roberts suggestion works best I think.

Yeah, the cropped version really makes it stand out. Pretty cool looking.

very cool plant, good eye for capturing it. I like the glow of the spikes, looks sinister. The cropped version is much better, more focused, and more abstract.

Very cool shot. The last version works best for me. Good eye on this one.

Cheers,
