p.1 #5 · Amateur Photography: What is the perfect lense combo with the Canon XTi
Just keep the 50 on, you should get some nice shots.
Take the long lens if you want to do some candids outside. Just don't expect anything stellar from the kit lenses.

The 18-55 and 55-250 should cover about anything you need except very low light. There are places you can rent lenses...if you consider that route Im a big fan of the 24-70 2.8L
As usual...ymmv

I once shot a wedding as a guest(not a prime photographer) a 50mm, 18-55mm and a Tamron 90mm SP marco before. I remember I didn't use the 90mm much. So, if you have the skill, you can take some decent photos in a wedding with just Canon 50mm
Canon 18-55mm IS.

The only one of those I'd even think about shooting a wedding with is a 50mm, and then only if it was a 1.4 or 1.2L. I really hate the 1.8 and don't even know where my copy is anymore. The 18-55 has a decent general focal range on your camera, but it's not fast and when the light falls, you'll be hating it if f/5.6 is the fastest you can shoot at.
And be respectful to the pro who is being paid to get the shots and stay out of his/her way.

I've shot complete weddings usiing mostly a 35 2.0 and a 85 1.8. I'm pretty sure I could cover an entire event with that combo and do a respectable job if i needed to. That's not an terribly expensive combo... not L lenses but produce pretty good contrast, color and bokeh.

If your comfortable with and want to stick with zooms for now save up or sell your current lenses and get a 17-55 2.8 IS.
Remember a lot of people who really get into it end up buying zooms and then migrating to primes after they learn some stuff. Don't ignore the people telling you primes - think about it.
Aside from the 50 prime you mentioned the other lenses are not really of the quality to be used at someone's wedding. Even the 50mm you mentioned has slow focusing issues.

The xti is a wonderful little camera; I very much enjoyed mine when I had it.
Unfortunately, I looked away to butter a piece of bread -- right before the main course was served -- and some scoundrel made off with it. I managed to catch a glimpse of him by the cake gleefully snapping pictures as the bride and groom were cutting it and then he was gone. My camera and all the shots of the ceremony were gone... the couple never forgave me… I still miss that camera to this day.
