1. The special effects don't really work as is. You are trying to show movement, but it's clear as day you just threw that in as an afterthought and it's not done very well. Her left arm is completely missing and her right foot is almost non-existent under the dress so it makes it look as if she is jumping straight up in the air with both legs and has a third leg coming out of the back. It just looks odd.

2, 3, 4, and 6 are good. The poses are different, and they somewhat work, somewhat don't.

5. How you have her posed with the hand on the head and the face, she looks like a monkey asking for a banana. I do love the vivid color of the spandex though. Seriously though, she looks like a monkey.

Hi,
On 1 there is no intention to show movement
It's more of a creative idea I had for this shot, that's why I posted it to see if it works yes/no.
For movement you will have to do that totally different.

On the pose of 5 we don't agree, I like the strong lines and power in the pose, but that's personal.
I love the more extreme posing

Enjoyed all of them. Very much like the lighting on 6. Could you describe your setup please?

I like the extreme pose, don't get me wrong, it's more of the rounded facial expression and the fact that it looks like she's scratching her head that made me instantly think of monkey at the zoo. Maybe if her hand was placed just a tad differently.

What type of creative idea were you going after for the first one? I figured it was a movement type idea after seeing her foot out of the back of the dress as if she were jumping forward, kinda assumed that is what the intention was.

Edit* The other thought was that she was supposed to be a ghost floating along, and if that was the case then both feet should be coming out of the bottom.

No real concept on the idea it self but more an enhancement of the shot.
You can see some of this methods showing up on advertisements but most of the time the "copy" is placed very close to the model I don't like that so I played arround with that concept to make something of my own.

I like the effect in #1, like an echo of the pic itself. Works for me.
#2 has awesome light. Well proportioned. My favourite from a lighting point of view. #3 is similar but has more light on the white top. Still a great shot.
#4 has its dark areas, but that was your intention and it has a nice balance of light one the various things in the frame.
#5 - I don't see the monkey pose here. Nice strong pose with the painted legs competing for attention with the face. You found a great balance for those two.
#6 Very nice.

I really enjoyed the ones in the dress. Of those, I really don't have a favorite. Beautiful lady.

#2 is one of the technically best photos i've seen in who knows how long.

Lighting, composition, pose, all come together to form a powerful image.
Well done.

PS you make a GREAT sales pitch for an octa bank

The effect on #1 is very crude and elementary but I'm not sure what you were going for.

All of the others have your normal lighting stamp on them. This series of shots seem to be a bit more mundane that your normal stuff. It's like you normally shoot large format but maybe these are not? Don't know but these are a bit different to me in some way.

@Ray,
These are shot during a workshop which was based on the lighting techniques.
For the dress shots the posing and the material was the idea behind the light setup.
