I missed my old D2H so much I bought another one!
Just sold my D300 today - moving to the D2H as my only camera. I figure it will make me better.
I love the colors and the small files that come from the D2H. Will miss the high ISO functionality of the D300, but maybe I will buy another one of those once I get better.
I just love the snappy body of the D2H and the files. They just work for me!
I will spare torturing people with my photos - all of the ones above are incredible relative to mine. Still love shootin'
Edit: I sold my 18-200VR with the D300. I need something for the short end, which I dont spend much time in. Im thinking the 35mm 1.8G instead of the 17-55 f2.8. I dont mind zooming with my feet. Good coverage with that little guy for under 70mm

I've got a 35AFS for my D2H. It is one mean combo! Super sharp. Amazing colours. Even wide open. If you know you won't need less than 35mm then go for it. Best $200 you'll ever spend.

This thread isn't helping any, I've been contemplating picking up one for dragging through the woods and swamps with and these colors + weather sealing and fast focus with af-d is really making me twitch.

Ironically, this thread came back up to the top of the Nikon forum right after I got this email (from the guy I sold my old D2H to):
"Hey Jason,
I wanted to let you know i am selling the D2H i bought from you last Sept. I am funding getting a D700, If you are interested i am selling it for $500.

looking at a cheap used one right now that's missing battery,battery door and charger. Battery and charger are easy enough to find, how hard is it to find the door at reasonable prices. Only seeing them for 60+. Are there any cheaper out there??

I bought a battery door cover from Adorama for my spare battery on the ol' D2H. IIRC, it wasn't very expensive at the time (last May?), but Nikon hiked up their prices.

I'm thinking of picking one of these up for a second camera when I go to alaska, though I've also been contemplating just renting a D3 for the 2 weeks I'm there. The cost of the rental is the same cost as buying a D2h . Great photos all.

Yeah, Banjopete has my old D2H!!!!! That guy is taking it into the heart of action. Perfect use for it!

Here are two of my kids from the D2H I bought after missing the one I sold to Banjopete so much. 70-300VR. Both probably cropped, too. Both exposures increased in post. I need to learn how to expose better.
