Hello Marc, we've certainly missed you and another raising of the bar . Awesome images. Congratulations on the tour successes and thanks for sharing these results.
BRAVO!! BRAVO!! The expression is not strong enough to convey my pleasure in viewing this extraordinary series which, to me, is perfect in every respect.

Stunning stuff Marc and as always you know the tech whores appreciate detailed explanations
On the 3rd image, did you use something similar to TK's luminosity masks to blend the detail into the tree against the bright sky?
Hougaard, no I did not. I used only a small bit of fill light in RAW, as there was already ample detail there. Since the light was at my back, the exposure was pretty simple, relatively speaking. Thanks.
Nice images, Marc. You got the perfect conditions for that rhodie shot. I shot it on two different days, and got no fog one day, and too dense of fog the next. You got just the right amount to give it some depth.
The lead-in of that fallen branch or whatever it is in the balsam root shot is nice as well.

So that's what happened to the log! I obviously didn't do enough research and thought I was just somewhere wrong after checking out all those pictures of Punchbowl Falls haha.
As usual, a great set to be proud of! #3 is definitely my favorite! Wonderful colors and composition and everything!
I am curious, what type of techniques do you use to blend your exposures. All of these images are very high in Dynamic Range and also have wonderful subtle details.
I'm curious to know what type of technique you use for blending your images even if they are coming from different exposures of the same raw file.
My eyebrows raised and my jaw dropped as I read about and then scrolled through this set. Definitely up to your usual high standards, with a noticeable calm and serenity to all in this series.
They're all quite strong images, but the last one is the winner for me because getting good shots in forests is ALWAYS a challenge. Additionally, that shot is different than much of your other work, and for that it gets more points, IMO.
Het Marc good to see you around here again. Inspiring work as always. None new to me since I tend to watch your work though a variety of forums as well. Reading about that second "Enchanted Forest" shot on NP really opened some ideas for me. Things I was already doing and experimenting with but for some reason did not realize the potential for. I will be out for 6 full days starting tomorrow mid-night and can not wait!
Thanks for the smack across the face Marc...artisitically speaking of course. Just visited punchbowl a few weeks back a i was shaking my head when I saw your shot. Superb combination of elements. Thanks for sharing and pushing all of us.
The word "stunning" was what I was going to use, but two others beat me to it! What an inspiration! These show a relative beginner what it's possible to achieve. The last two particularly capture my fancy.
You present some nice variety in this series. What I enjoy and take away the most is your processing in all of these images. Capturing the shot is half the battle. The ability to effectively process the image is what really brings each photo to life. Thanks for sharing.
