Just an FYI for all you R strap users, as I am one too. There is an issue with the new connector (Connect R2) coming unscrewed and your camera plummeting to it's death. Apparently Black Rapid is sending new ones to anyone who has recently bought a strap from them. Here is a related link

luckily i have the older one where your camera falls off because of the latch...
Now that's funny... I've been shopping for a new strap and was about to pull the trigger on one of those, but these stories (and I'm not sure how the L bracket will work) is gonna keep me with my free smug mug strap, me thinks.
they got rid of the L bracket in the newer one with a cooler screw on thing that has a rubber compression washer, seems to work well, but apparently added a newer better insta-drop feature..
I was going to purchase these on numerous occasions, but kept backing out due to hearing stuff like this. Talk about a great idea implemented in an awful manner.
At my wedding last week, my R-Strap dropped my 5D MKII. The fall shattered the Pocket Wizard on top of the camera. The 5D had some scrapes - but I attribute it still being in one piece to the Really Right Stuff L-Bracket I had just put on the camera.
Pocket Wizard hooked me up with the plastic casing (after I tested the internals). I'm back up and running... but I won't be using my R-Strap ever again.
I am glad I never put down the money for one of them now. Great concept. I had my brother in law who has access to all kinds of webbing and industrial sewing units take a look at some of the think tank, r-strap and boda bag stuff. I told him I really wanted an R-strap to use two camera at a wedding. The next week he has the strap, padding, and connecting mechanism all done up for me. It works great, I use a square tripod bracket to connect the camera to a slider. DIY sometimes is the best way.
I will be rigging my current r-strap with a mod that was discussed in another forum. It's sad that we have to mod a finished product just to make it work.
I have two straps and love them! If I know I only need one les I'll still wear both straps coupled together, the thing is I'll hook to the camera and one to the 70-200 tripod mount.
It's a new product - plus it fills a gap in the market that photographers desire. I'm tellin you I love these straps, all new products (regardless of market/manufacture) have to go through trials, no matter how much QC is done on it, the market drives progress/modifications.
