Thanks for the tip Jonathan!
You're welcome Susi, I've purchased ffrom Cameralandny 3 times and would do so again. The LX3 I ordered arrved in 24 hours(free shipping) and came with a 1 gig card.
my titanium version arrived. its at my gf's house(mass.). my gss lcd screen protector arrived as well and it's at my parents house(ny). my 8GB card arrived and it's in my apartment(ny).
and im too busy and tired from work to get all these and play with it. but this weekend should be fun! i hope.
that website or the photographer has great compositions and also he post process his pics in photoshop. Jim's website basically was the driving force in my decision to purchase dlux4.
i would go flickr and look at the pics from dlux4. most of them are not post process.
im done with my big camera gear. i cant wait to travel again and take photos with this little one.
Just an update, though this is really a Leica thread, but the Panasonic LX-3 is doing just fine, actually I'm quite impressed with the results. I'm shooting raw, using adobe's DNG converter, and bringing them into CS3. Very nice images, just saw a bit of artifacts when shooting geese in the water particularly the sun reflections.

I checked out the Leica case the other day.... it is huge. Great build, but being that large, and being relatively difficult to use, I passed on it.
Arka C.
Huge?? Mine fits the camera perfectly , very compact and comes with a wrist strap for the camera and neck/shoulder strap for the case. Camera slides right out. will post a picture later, wondering if you are referring to the same case?
The d-lux 4 is soooo pretty! I sold the silver LX3 with the intention to purchase the black d-lux 4. But the price is so much higher than the LX3. So in the end I purchased another LX3, but this time in the black version.
Glad that I didn't spend the extra on the Leica. Now I can use the money to supplement my purchase of the Olympus Pen!
ok this is a dumb question... i haven't read the manual yet...
how do i convert the raw file of the d-lux 4 (.rwl) to a jpeg? will the results be different if i shoot jpeg straight from the camera or if i shoot it in raw first then convert it to jpeg?
i'm thinking i have to use the phase one software to do it... haven't really figured it out yet...
You do that in Phase One.
Also, check the version of the camera. I just got a new D-4 today from B&H, and had to download the new version of software for it. It has something to do with the white balance in the camera. You should have version 1.20
