p.1 #1 · photo hosting/selling sites...where?

I'm wondering what photo hosting/selling sites people are using.
I currently use SmugMug and LOVE IT but have to pay out quite a bit more in order to set my own prices on anything I would want to sell.

I tried Photo Reflect but it's software (Express Digital Darkroom WebEdition) looses past albums I've already uploaded if I have to reformat my PC.
So, I'm stuck with old stuff I can't get rid of...not cool.

I'd like to be able to set my own pricing on a per-album basis as well as password protect individual albums if I choose to.

Suggestions?
I had someone tell me about pictage but their website isn't very friendly towards "shopping around".

www.exposuremanager.com will do what you want to do. I haven't had much luck selling anything through them but they appear to be a reasonable setup and quite flexible.

I just got a call from www.photostockplus.com

They look/sound like a photoreflect type startup where you can upload pix, they put them online for you in a store, take CCs, print and deliver for you.

They claim they can double my revenue... hehe... little do they know.
I'm not endorsing them - just heard about them - but they may be a nice solution for smaller startups.

I use Zenfolio for all my sports sales.
I have no complaints.
My customers love the prints MPix Generates.
Here is a link to one of this seasons galleries.

Hammy - I got the same call today, with the same claims (that they could double my revenue).

I currently use Smugmug and am not looking for a change.

Anyone have any experience with PhotostockPlus.com??

Are you looking for a microstock type place or somewhere where you can set up your own storefront?

To set up your own storefront, creating more a professional business type website, you can look at:
SmugMug, Zenfolio, Pictage, ExposureManager.

For microstock sites:
iStockPhoto, Dreamstime, shutterstock.

I have tons of galleries at Exposure Manager
sell in the $$thousands monthly

their customer service is a step above anyone else I've dealt with.
support 24/7, always answers within an hour

have had the post office trash client's orders, and EM reprints & remails at no charge, even though it wasn't thier fault

the galleries are simple, ftp uploads are fast (I upload a few thousand pics a week into multiple galleries)

for a free trial, click here http://www.exposuremanager.com/aff/ninasphotography

pricing options, printing options, product options are awesome ... check out my proof gallery on my website for more ... poke around dog shows & events if you want to see it all with no password necessary

Anyone has experience with imagekind.com? Not a hosting site, but looks like it does a good job in displaying/promoting fine art prints. Nice paper options too.

if photostock plus woud be as agressive in marketing your images as they are at trying to recruit you, then maybe you'd make $$ hosting with them

I tried them for a year, specifically uploaded stock type images, plus had event galleries for clients etc... never made a dime off of the stock from a non-client.

Zenfolio looks great. It would be even better if it could integrate with a blogsite. Anyone do any work to integrate the two? Any samples/examples of this?

I do my own printing, and I use smugmug...I also integrated a paypal cart instead of smugmugs own cart...dodges their 15% comission in favor of a 3% comission, means I can charge in any currency I want(a big plus as canadian customers can get a little pissed about the price jump on their statement). Personally for having a website that looks like your own I like them...although I understand they're not everyone's favorite.

Great customer support even for their non standard coding, including the paypal cart, the drop down navbar on my site was also accomplished with some help from them, and the home screen slideshow.

check out the paypal cart...all the galleries are open...you can select a photo to order and take it in to the cart right up until the checkout process without anything negative happening.

ignore the not so excellent photography skills

I say ask them if they're willing to give you your money back if they don't double your revenue...but hey :P
