Paolo, the front lens cap on 200 f/1.8 fits perfect. However, the 200 f/2.0 IS hood is better in several ways than the 200 f/1.8 hood........I think that's much more important than the fit of those caps during lens storage.
Why do you think I went to the expens and trouble of getting an alternative (viz. smaller) hood for the 200 f/1.8 even though it can not be reversed on the lens.
Peter, your images always seem to have a particular signature to them, with almost muddled contrast as if you lower the black point all the way in post. Like a pseudo-HDR. What kind of PP do you usually do to your images?
Ariel, I can not quite describe the detail, but in general outline ....what I like to see is low contrast, moderate saturation (which on occasion I boost) and moderate to high sharpness. I also try to amplify dusky brown and green family of colours where I feel it's appropriate.
Forgot one thing too......In pp I frequently darken an image below of what would be considered a spot-on exposure.
Personal taste, that goes without saying.

I've missed two fair priced 200/2 due to sanity check of my brain which takes a few days to perform
I was cuddeling the lens at Aperture in London, but had friends to pull me out of there before I could flash my CC.
Dang I don't need this effing lens but boy do I want it.
I bet I'll end up at B&H having a long weekend in NY. Prolly cheaper than buying it locally even considering the air fares.
