Thanks Tom and Henry

You're welcome to come to Naples any time Tom -I've got a spare room. Would be cool to take you to Lago d'Averno and shoot some dragons

Here's a challenge for you John, go shoot something that doesn't involve a yellow flower.

I just shot this, I clearly felt that I wasn't in my comfort zone.

Pardon me, I hope no girl is watching this.

No yellow flower? Check!
Not a Violet Darter? Check!
Not a macro photo? Check!

Noob and lurker here. Just learning macro with a camera and lens that are new to me. I'm experimenting with many scenarios to learn my equipment and find my fancy.

C&C requested for this series with colored light and drill bits. My screen only alloows for 3 attachments, unlike the 4-8 that Tom recommended. I'll do a second post with the last 2 images. I'd be glad to merge them if someone will tell me how.

Thanks (I have thick skin)! Chris

Here are the follow on images from my original post. I don't know how to upoload more than 3 images per post.

These colored shadows of the drill bits are onblack foam core board.
since they are abstract, do they belong someplace lese? Are these considered macro?

Chris

A bee,
A critter I rarely shoot!
Not with the 100 or the mpe,
but with the plain old 85L with a small tube!
Sun and fill flash

Thanks Tom

I took a lot of inspiration from your natural light closeup work, and Marl Plonsky was my macro mentor so I learned from two of the best

Perfect conditions on that day Peter -no wind, light overcast clouds, etc. All I had to do was not screw it up
