Today it finally arrived. The lens is in very good condition, the rings move smoothly and it focusses to infinity. At f/2+ it is very sharp and at wider apertures it gives some lovely small DoF. I have to practice to get some funkier bokeh. I shot some photos today with my new focus screen and it works perfectly. I discovered at the last few photos that the AF confirm dot also works. Aperture information unfortunately doesn't work (remains at f/1.8).

Am I correct to assume that you are not using this lens on a FF camera? Which body are you using?

You're correct, it's a 450D. So no mirror problems for me.

Wide open at f/1.2, if I recall correctly.

Thanks. I like the heavy vignetting this lens has wide open, it's a wonderful characteristic. Live view makes it so much more usable, too - no more focus errors.

Peter...nice picture, but I really doubt your picture was taken with f/1.2...
There is just too much DOF there.

Wide open (for sure this time) at 1/2 second, and an enthusiastic downward motion during exposure.

I've sold mine, I liked it on the 7D when the EFL was around 85mm, but going to FF I find it too short. Still, good memories - converted it myself using a local jeweller to add an AF chip to a custom M-AF mount, good fun
