p.1 #1 · Lake Perkolilli

This is a photo taken at Lake Perkolilli, Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. I was planning to enter this in the wide angle weekly assignment but missed the deadline.

I was using a Canon 28-135 (as I lost my 17-40) with a circular polariser. The image has just had minor adjustments and was cropped slightly to remove the bad vignetting from the CP.

28-105 is scarcely a wide angle. 28x1.6 is 45mm.

For me I would choose landscape orientation here, but you were likely limited by your 28mm. I would choose landscape because it would match the horizon.

I am not sure what the foreground item is. And for me a picture should not be a puzzle.

Great colors in the pictures. Good idea with a foreground item. I think landscape, a foregrount item that is recognizable would make this much better.

p.1 #3 · Lake Perkolilli

28mm on full frame. As I mentioned it was all I had at the time.

It's an old deflated soccer ball. The lake is a 100 year old race track, we were there racing vintage cars. It seemed fitting at the time. The reason for shooting portrait was to get as much of the cracked clay in the shot as possible. I have others in lanscape with different subject in the foreground, I'll post if I get a chance.

Thanks for the critique!
