p.1 #1 · should I put a Nikon 50/1.2 Ai-S in my bag?
I shoot Canon and have the Rokkor 58/1.2 and Leica 2/50 cron and a Canon 24-70, so the 50mm range is covered fairly well, but I know some one who wants to sell their old Nikon. I have liked posts from this lens in the alt image thread, but I think that the look that I like may have more to do with the shooter than the glass.
Is it worth bringing into the fold, and what would be a fair price for me to offer? If I could only keep 2 of the three alts, would the Leica go or the Nikon not get purchased?

Thanks, guys. I like the smooth bokeh and construction of the Leica, but I wish that it were wider aperture. I like the wider aperture of the Rokkor - and its build is still quite good - and I like aspects of the bokeh for certain shots, but I would love the option for a smoother bokeh in a slightly wider lens sometimes.

I have posted a few shots of the Rokkor. MANY more shots than mine are posted in the "Alternative Image Thread" and the "Admirable Blur Samples" threads on the Alt Gear forum here. Check them out.
I have only had mine for a few weeks. Others have been using them for years...and posting images all the while.

I like my Nikkor
This was a quick snapshot I took the other day.
I am sure you could try the lens and sell it if you did not like its looks.

There are a couple of E60 - 50mm Summilux'es on ebay - Ohh - for the cost of three rokkors plus a couple of Nikons.
The Summicron bokeh is pretty good @ f2 and you can't beat that sharpness stopped down. I have the Leica 35mm that I may sell someday but the 50 is a keeper.
