A few new water droplets... playing with lighting and colours. Sorry for redundant colour theme - I need to buy some new inkjet transparencies and then I'll be back in business for more colours.
I have added mirrored acrylic on the sides of the water tray to amplify light, and tried some home-made colour gels printed on inkjet transparencies. Very cool stuff. Many more ideas to try. Of course, the flying insects are coming and that will compete. Need to work on a high-speed shutter though for that. What a time-sink... but I love it.
Thanks for looking, Brad (more info and setup pics on Flickr - www.bradsteels.com)
Great shots Brad! Your water drops are "candy for my eyes". I really enjoy seeing your work. I do hope you've printed and framed some of these things!
I finally finished my photogate trigger, now I just have to find time to shoot with it all hooked up! I'd still love to see a overview shot of your setup when you get a chance.
Keep these shots a-comin'!
P.S. - I think "balance" is my favorite of this bunch.
Lavanut - "Balanced" is my fav of the bunch too. Look forward to seeing some of your shots when you get a chance to play with the setup. Printing and framing a couple of these is on my to-do list - but I feel I still need to develop the lighting a bit further! Every time I make improvements, I think wow I wonder what I'll see next...
Really look forward to seeing your posts Brad. Balance is the winner for me. Would really like to try these but I have so many "time-sinks" already I'll just sit and admire your shots as a tiny time-sink!
Thanks for the comments dragonfly5, AhamB, Michael and Aaron! Hope to post some more this weekend if I get some time to shoot. It is insane sometimes how long it takes to get the lighting / camera / droplets all dialed in... and then other times it comes together quickly... anyway I have at least a couple more from today to post later on.
