This was one of those sunrises that started off pretty slow, grew spectacular and didn't seem to end. There was enough deep clouds to hold the sun back and just made the clouds in front burn for one of the longest sunrises I had the pleasure to shoot!
The hard part is going to be deciding which one to blow-up into a nice enlargement.
Here's the progression of the sunrise from last month. I've been pretty lucky, so far I've made 5 trips to Banff this winter and have come away with two really sweet sunrises. Now if only the sunsets would cooperate
Oh boy these are on fire! What an awesome sunrise here. It's going to be hard to pick out a favorite, because each one is good enough to stand on it's own. The detail in the ice looks cool too with the cracks and holes and all, that part is going to look really cool when blown up.
Wow what a gorgeous series just simply beautiful the colors, comps, lighting everything is working so well here would love to see this at 800-900 on the longside. All are very nicely done
Appreciate the comments from everyone. This sunrise was certainly worth freezing over!!
I'll be posting my last series from Vermillion this year and that morning it was -26 degrees celsius and around -35 with the wind chill. That was also an abolutely magical morning, although there were no clouds. Only problem was that 10 minutes after I had setup i couldn't change my tripod setting since the legs were frozen solid. After not being able to get the shots I wanted, I wish I had stayed in bed that morning!
