Now can we see the second or third best shots? (the before and after, I'm sure you took more than one hahah)... j/k
Sonny
Sonny,
Thanks
On that day, about 20 local photographers were on hand at El Dorado Park. While everyone was still busy chatting with each other and keeping their eyes on the Ospreys circling above, I went alone to the other side of the channel (near the Egret) and waited for a Great Egret that looked like it was looking for a meal. The missed attempts at the fish attracted the attention of the other photographers. Even though I had the "best seat in the house" (sitting flat on the ground and about 25 ft from the action), the whole series is nothing out of the ordinary - nothing that hadn't been seen before; EXCEPT for one shot. I'm afraid to disappoint you, the other shots aren't even worth posting.

Half of these posts are your own replies :-). Good job with the photo and keeping this thread alive.
News flash: Almost everyone in the N&W forum sends reply to people who comment on their posts, it's a minimal gesture of politeness. If I'm doing something not according to the forum guidelines, please let me know, I'll gladly oblige. Thank you, but it was not my intention to simply "keep it alive".

6th march....I celebrate 1 month of front page publicity for your post !!
The only nitpick I have is it should have been taken in portrait mode to make a potential book cover...am surprised no one said that yet.
Andddd...a free bump for you, back to the top !
Hehe thanks for being so thoughtful. Well to be honest, I was so close and the action happened so fast that putting the camera in vertical mode wouldn't have worked in this case.
How about this for a bump? I've been out for a week, no medicine, no forum, and certainly no replying to this thread, until now.

You done yet Andy...do you need to "outsource" it to me
Dan, yeah, looking back at the last couple of weeks, I should've taken your offer. Man, I was hit with having a cold, then trying to go out to shoot, then the cold never went away, internet was down, computer had problems... blah blah.. I didn't even have time to reply to my posts. I think I'll need your help next time.
But then there will never be a next time cuz I don't think I'll ever get a shot like this again.
Hey i saw it in National Geographic Magazine i just got. I saw it and was like I know who took that! I'm amazed it didn't make the cover. Well oh well CONGRAT! Keep it up!

Haha this is like seeing a long-lost friend that I didn't expect to see again. I thought this post was long gone and forgotten. How did you find it? About the NatGeo gig, I didn't want to make a big fuss on FM cause you know some very jealous individuals esp. the ones from SoCal don't like me very much so I thought I'd keep a lid on it and go on about it quietly. It's so sad people are blinded by their envy that they deny themselves a chance to learn and grow. Hey thanks for the pat on the back!
