When live view vignetting happens it's on one egde, but mainly concentrated to that same corner every time.
Actually, if I remember correctly, the shutter does not work perfectly linearly but through a slightly curved path. That might explain the corner emphasis.

I shoot with alt lenses on a 5dmkII with no issues ever.
Interesting, your 5DmkII might be first then which does not do this. I assume you are aware that this is nothing which happens in every photo but only in special conditions. The list of conditions in which this happens are on page 4, but I'll copy paste here for you: Here is whole list of conditions which all need to be true in order to "find" this problem:
- using non-chipped adapters or Canon lenses with taped connections
- using live view
- using shutter speed faster than 1/2500s
- using silent mode 1 or 2
===> not a fairly common problem, specially now when it's not problem if disabling silent mode, which is beneficial with long lenses on darker conditions.

I don't have the camere with me, but I would find it strange that the kind of shutter in SLR would move in curved path since the shutter blades are rectangular and so is the "hole" in which they move. So this is only possible if shutter blades are not rectangular. You can chech this by using mirror lockup and see the mirror chamber when mirror is up.

I don't have a 5Dii for equivalent (from the front!) stop-motion shots, but this OM-1n shutter shows a slit at a right angle to the travel. The shading pattern described could be achieved if the curtain edges (simulated or mechanical) were somewhat off square, and slightly out of sync.
I use Quick Mode, Stills Only, Exposure Simulation & Silent Mode disabled. A non-chipped adapter disabled my Exposure Simulation. OT I know - just adding to the knowledge base.
