p.1 #1 · Toronto E-Sesh

We shot our first e-session of 2009 on Saturday. We planned on walking around downtown Toronto and using different urban elements as backdrops. Well...the weather had other plans! It started snowing rather heavily so we grabbed a few shots and headed indoors (Union Station). Here are a few from the shoot:

A few critique's if I may...

#1 - the circular blur really makes the picture uncomfortable to look at. Cropping/vignetting might serve better in regards to isolating the couple.

#4 - she looks uncomfortable in the background - the hand placement doesn't seem "natural".

Processing is well done and the snow falling adds a nice effect. Overall, good series and good effort!

#3 is the most natural / the best "posed candid" moment. Not sure I'm a fan of the lensbaby look.

#2 would be a great nook if not for the slightly contrived foot in the air pose.

Thanks for the feedback, guys! This particular e-session really pushed us as we had planned for sunshine...but ended up getting really drab overcast and very low contrast lighting. The blowing snow didn't help either!

The day after we shot this we picked up a 5D Mk II...so needless to say, we're REALLY looking forward to the next one!

I actually like 1 the most. The raised foot looks a little too deliberate. Not sure why. The color on 3 should be on 4 as well. Remove the circle blur. Congrats on the 5D2.

Toronto weather works in strange ways these days! Glad you pushed through the session and got some good shots!
