p.1 #1 · Son's wedding, please give general comments
Our son recently got married and the photographer was kind enough to encourage me to follow her around so I could take photos off to the side.
This is the first time I've taken these types of photos and being off to the side allowed me to take some fun casual shots while the photographer was doing her thing.
These were taken with Canon 50D and 70-200 f4 IS. Many were at f5.6 Manual mode.
I overexposed numerous outside photos in front of the Alamo but using Lightroom I think I did a reasonable job of getting the photos back in shape.
As usual, after I review my photos on the computer I recognize a lot of what I should have done. I tend to go brain dead when I'm actually taking the photos.
Start with photo 3571 and if you have any advice I'd be very interested.
A question:
When we reviewed the photos from the photographer, it did not appear she did any PP work as it seemed there were numerous that I thought were overexposed or could have benefited from cropping. Is this normal? There were about 500 photos.

is general overexposure part of this photographer's style? Was the agreement for fully edited photos? "Normal" will depend on what was agreed upon and what the rest of her portfolio looks like.

Thanks for your thoughts.
I think you might have hit on the right thought - maybe our son didn't ask to have fully edited photos. I was thinking that any photographer would want to edit their photos and improve or correct them as necessary as one of their goals would be to sell the prints.
This person did put together this really cool looking album we could view online. I'd never seen anything like this as it had a photo as the background of the page with other photos as the main photos for the page. Must have been some web service or software, but I liked it and will be paying big bucks for it since, to us, it was very unique.

mrhoni,
Many wedding photographers work differently concerning how they handle their proofs. Some edit all photos, some only edit what gets ordered or goes in the album. It really depends on the individual.
Concerning the albums, many of us here do similar things now that digital printing has advanced so much. Pretty cool stuff! Glad to see you appreciate them. Hopefully they'll love the pictures for a long time. Congratulations!

The alamo, cool, I did a wedding in san antonio not too long ago. Your shots a good, overexposure may have been her style, because on some shots I do overexpose purposely. As far as editing she may just shoot right off the cam and show those to the client and edit the ones for the album but I do show my edited ones to my client as well and most of the time those are the ones they pic for the album. Do you have a link to the photos?

Herby,
We were given a private logon so I can't get you to see those photos.
My wife loved photo 3589. It made her cry.
I think the Alamo made an interesting background except sometimes there were too many people in the shots. My angle didn't get the Alamo much in the background but my angle was different than the photographers.
