Good point! Lacking localized editing tool is killing me again :/ bibble5 better be out soon I have a lot of re-editing to do when it gets out Much easier to work with such problems when you can use layers and tone down just parts of an image.
I used to shoot b&w a lot. Since using digital I have not been very happy with the quality of conversions. They look great in the monitor but not so when printed.
Your second shot is excellent. I like those dark tonalities and I tend to reflect them in my color photography also.
