I did a few portraits for a mixed martial arts-club today! Great fun

I have a bunch of pictures to shift trough, but did a couple in BW, just beacause I'm such a kid when it comes to loving BW...

Standard portrait:

I wanted to go for a quite dark/contrasty look, but did I overdo it?

Brightness of the dogi in the first picture is kinda distracting but I think they're great

Good point! Lacking localized editing tool is killing me again :/ bibble5 better be out soon

I have a lot of re-editing to do when it gets out

Much easier to work with such problems when you can use layers and tone down just parts of an image.

I used to shoot b&w a lot. Since using digital I have not been very happy with the quality of conversions. They look great in the monitor but not so when printed.
Your second shot is excellent. I like those dark tonalities and I tend to reflect them in my color photography also.
