Have any of you have this problem with your 17-55 IS ?
It kinda stutter/hesitate when focusing.
I guess its time for maintenance service ? Is this common ?
Have any idea of how much would it cost and how long for the repair ?
And is it wise to get a Tamron 17-50 2.8 for use while waiting for 17-55 while its in Canon service ?
Thx Guys
I sent in my 17-55 with the same problem. Is your IS jumping too? I had the Tamron for a while as well. It's a great lens, in my opinion. I ended up going for the canon being enticed by the IS. In terms of build quality I wish I stuck with the Tamron.
Repair cost to replace the bad IS motor in my Canon 17-55mm was $95.83 in oct 2008.
It's a great lens and far superior to the Tamron 17-50, I bought a Tamron to compare and after 1 head-to-head test against a target I sent the Tamron back.
Hi Jonathan, I think you're right.
Since Im using em for wedding I thought its supposed to be here.
I'll try Canon SLR forum now, why didnt I think of it before ? hahaha....
Thx
