Had a blast shooting with these. Love the packs and how strong they are power wise.

Bryan,

Setup and breakdown were about the same. I think I will get quicker after I get a system down for the packs and what not. I was a little slow today.

Heavy, nope the 1250 packs are quite light. It says it is 7 pounds but it does not feel that heavy.

Marty,

Thank you.

Bob,

Thank you

bb,

1250 per strobe or 625 per tube (bi-tubes)

Tim,

Gotta post it Tim! I struggled big time last night. I was extremely rusty from my long vacation.

Nicely done Mike. Contrast and color are great with the lights. The blue and white looks great in these; are they shot direct?

I cant believe how big that gym is for H.S. That rivals college gyms up here in Vancouver.

Ron,

Just for future reference it is Matt

They were bounced from the ceiling (might want to correct that sh*t direct comment lol)

It is actually an average size gym here in Utah. It is about what everyone has around here. But we also have a TON of schools because a lot of families around here have a lot of children

Ikes...sorry Matt!!

Not sure where I picked that up from and the shot typo is one I usually catch everytime as I do it so often.

Hoping on the forum and posting before a coffee is not a wise thing for me to do.

Matt... With 1250 per strobe, are you dialing them down a bit, or using full power?

Ron,

No worries lol

bb,

Nope they were shot full power last night. I should be getting the Y connector on Friday in which if I have to dial down (small gym) I can use that and connect it to the 3:1 or 1/4th. At 3:1 I will get around 900ws and on the 1/4th I will get around 300ws (or the same strength as a B800). The good thing is that I will still be shooting through two tubes which will divide that total ws in half and give me an extremely high t1 number

Matt so these are not like the ab mono's in such that the T1 reduces as you dial them down. Might I ask why you are moving away from the ab's. Could it be the above and your stopping of action or are there other motivations.

Beau,

Actually they are just like the mono's when you dial down using the slider. There are two ways to decrease power on the zeus packs. Slider and switch. The switch is the one that will increase t1 times (make better) while the slider will decrease t1 times.

I guess I moved away from the AlienBees but I stayed in the same company Just a different product.

I moved away from the bee's because I had money saved up for the zeus pack and I want to one day strobe an arena (high school playoffs, nba D league game, etc..)

With these I will be able to do so while having a very nice high t1 time.

Some of the cleanest and most even strobe work I've seen, short of using an arena's fixed strobe setup.

Nicely done!

What was your positioning the strobes?

Matt, where is the optimal place you have found to position your strobes? I received mine and was playing with them in a very small elementary school gym. Kids never noticed them until I moved them to quarter court and the flash reflected off the backboard while one was shooting freethrows!

I would say right where you see them in that picture. At the corners and behind the basket.

Try to keep them behind you when your sitting base line so you do not see them when you pan to either side of the court

Matt,

These are really nice. You are getting your basketball dialed in pretty good.

So do I understand that you used two Zeus 1250 packs, each with a bi-tube head and each at the full 1250WS?
