p.1 #1 · 5D exposure compensation

Setting to over-expose or under-expose results in no change. The camera takes the shot at exactly the same shutter speed and f-stop as if exposure compensation is set at zero.

Auto exposure bracketing works just fine, resulting in three different exposures.

Anyone else had this problem?

Yes, camera is in Av or Tv mode.

Are you setting EC or perhaps accidentally setting FEC?

I often successfully use EC in Av mode on my 5D. I don't use it, so I'm not sure, but could C.Fn-16 Safety Shift cause this behaviour?
