p.1 #1 · Image delivery / organization

Hey all!

I was curious for those of you who consistently shoot with a 2nd . . . is there anyone who, when delivering images to a client on a disc, separates the photos by photographer (main photog folder, 2nd photog folder)? Or do you always sync the cameras up prior to the event and include all images from both photogs in chronological order, one folder?

Also, how is packaging / presentation? Do you make a nice label for the disc, with names / date, or photo? Do you use a nice, elegant case . . . or print a cover for a clear case?

I typically sync cameras, sift and edit all images together after importing, sort by capture time, batch export (mmddyy_clientname_0001) at 2500 max res, burn to inkjet printable DVD-R, print names / date and my logo (small) on the DVD, and design a simple but nice cover with their names and date of the wedding on one of the best photos, printed for a clear case. Was curious about how all you folks did it as well!

I sync with my second shooters and give the client one chronologically organized presentation. However, the ones that I took are marked with my initials in the filename so that the clients know what I did.

I've stopped giving proof CD's as I find it to be a waste of time and effort when things like Smugmug and Zenfolio are available. The final images - after all post production work is complete - are burned to a DVD w/ a nice printed top. This DVD is then delivered in a nice case. The look of the case depends on the style of the couple.

Cameras are sync'ed and all selected images in Chronological order are renamed to remove identification except in the EXIF data where the camera model/serial number and in some cases owner's name appear.

DVDs are presented in a leather case for most clients and are done on a LiteScribe drive with a custom laser label that is based on a photo of the Bride&Groom.

Cheers!
