I was out driving around yesterday and noticed quite a few Hawks along the highway. I think due to the sun shining they were more active.I climbed up an embankment where this one was setting pretty low in a tree.I was able to get within about 20 yds. from him and take a dozen shots before he flew off. Wish I could have approached from the front because he was backlit from where I was and I realize I blew out the feathers on his chest.
This was taken with a Canon Mark lll, 400/2.8 IS/ 1.4X hand held.

I'm thinking it is a Red Tail Hawk from the tail feathers, if anyone can confirm that I would appreciate it.Also any C&C is welcome and appreciated.
