Late last fall I shot my 16th wedding at the McKendree College campus near St. Louis. They were an extremely fun couple - they went to college at McKendree and had a lot of great memories there. We got some great shots on the campus, did the ceremony, then stopped off at their local watering hole for a 'pre-reception', then went on to the reception. More are on my site here: http://www.valeriecookphotography.com/Weddings/640689
C&C is welcome, thanks in advance ~Val
Like the set, lots of emotion and really looks like you guys really had fun. A few comments:
1. Really like this one!
2&4. Not sure about these. Looks like you've tried to go all 'Ed Pingol' on them and it doesn't fit with the rest of your style.
12. Looks so close to being symmetrical but not quite. I'd be tempted to either crop to symmetry or mirror the window light from the left onto the right side. That would make it a bit more balanced and draw the eye to the couple.
13. Love it, would be tempted to get rid of the Exit sign though.
All in all 14, 17, 18 and 21 are my faves. Love the journalism style of 17 and 18.
ok I have also shot in the chapel there at McKendree...I am dying to know how you got eye level for the shot of them up on the altar...man that thing is so high and the pews are right in fron of it. Were you standing on the pews?? ha ha sorry if that was a lame question.
sjmacky! That is sooo funny - because yes! The alter is waaaayy tall. I had my step stool and it wasn't even tall enough - so yes, I did actually stand on my tippy-toes on the pew itself! Lucky I have a tripod that will extend high enough!!!! It's so cool that you noticed (-:

revhappy - All except the formal shot what bounce flash - no diffusion, just the white card popped up to point it towards whatever wall I was near. I was lucky to have nice white walls and ceilings there.
Reception was the same, just bounced. Thanks, Val
