The following are from near Vermillion Lake near Banff Alberta. These are on the North side of Vermillion in a small hotsprings pool.
It was very cold that morning (-30cish) and I had to swap out cameras and batteries and rub my ears for the hour that I was there. 1st and 3rd tripod. 2nd handheld.
love the bottom one....the tripod holes in the top made me chuckle...were they yours or there when you arrived? finding tripod holes in weird locations is always a treat.
These are terrific, Scott, some of my favorites of all of yours.
Love the rising mist and very cold atmo in these, and the soft light is delicious! The 2nd and 3rd, especially, are really extraordinary!!
BrianRueb: Those are my tripod holes. Unfortunately, I put them down to close before backing up. Embarrassing but true. I should see if I can fix them. Thanks.
Martins34: I used a cp in 1 and 3, with ND grad but not in 2. I had to fix what the sky a bit after the polarizer - there are pluses and minuses. Thanks
Thanks Gary. It is a great spot. Maybe if I can get there right after a snow fall it might be a bit better.
It's a tiny nit, but backing up just a bit on the first one would avoid clipping the top of the tree in the upper right. The third one is very effective. The mist/fog adds a fine sense of quiet. Good work.
Thanks Scott - there is nothing like warming your camera with your cold hands at -30c, while you nose goes numb. Florida and the Carribbean was much easier last week. Thanks
Thanks Jehanzeb. Number 2 was my favorite when I posted because of the human tracks on 3. It is interesting that most people prefer 3. I will have to go back after a snow. I appreciate your comments. Scott
