Impala are hunted by every predator so they are constantly on the lookout for "trouble". This was a rare moment, showing them in a totally relaxed mood.
Don
The colour is very intense however the well contrasted oversaturation kinda works on this to good effect. The two juxtaposed eyes balance the composition nicely.
Don,
Nice image! Great mood and detail.
It is a bit too vibrant for me also, but looks good on high-res lcd.
The BG is a bit distracting with some ghosting and may need just a touch of NR.
You've captured a very nice moment Don. certainly printworthy. For me, I'd take the saturation down just a bit, tone down the hotspots in the BG impala, and fix the BG animals edges.
There you have it Don, some like the saturation some not as much.. often less saturation can bring out more detail so in that thought it might be interesting to look at it that way and see what you think.
I like the image for its feeling and comp. I think we all are at first attracted to dynamic color but sometimes then it settles as not 'natural' then we think about what we are seeing rather than just accepting it as a whole. Hope that makes sense a bit. The BG for me is just too strong and would benefit from the desat if you choose to consider it. These are really neat animals and very fast if I remeber correctly
