My last images of 2008, taken on an early morning outing to Bodiam castle, East Sussex, England. A very promising colourful sky evaporated within minutes of my arrival (how often does that happen!!!), so I concentrated on the frosted features of the surrounding area. I was trying out a new point&shoot (Ricoh GX200) - it seemed to do okay as long as I kept the ISO lowish (<200). Feedback welcome. Thanks. Paul.
I can see the 'Large format' influence in these, particularly no.2 ...wonderful textures and composition ideas.
so why was the LF left behind?
I have recently got the G10 compact and hoping to use it more often than my DSLR.
Jane
Thanks Jane - I did use the LF gear but the trannies are still with the lab - I'm still doing most of my photography on LF (a really cheap but very effective Chamonix). The G10 looks like a nice piece of equipment so I'm looking forward to see what you post with it. I don't think I'll be selling my DSLR anytime soon though - these small format sensors just can't match the IQ of the full frame sensors. The P&S Ricoh is really just for note-taking and exploring ideas. Cheers. Paul
