p.1 #4 · Rock, Ice and Water - Untertal Talbach River
Hey Gavin,
Boy let me say #3 was worth the double socks. It's a masterpiece! Love the B&W conversion too. Now in the first 2, the only thing I don't like is the far bank and busyness of the barren branches and roots and stuff. So for me, especially in #2, if you cropped it right below the far river bank, you would have a really sweet shot that could focus more on that cool ice!

I really like these - different from the usual big vista work on this forum. B&W a good choice. Preferences are 1, 2 and 3 - in that order! Cheers. Paul

Very cold looking, Gavin. Super conversions. I really like the look of them and love the clarity of the second, with that lovely crispness of ice and snow.

I'm humbled and encouraged at the same time. On the #2 I included the fallen tree, I have another shot without it, maybe it would make a strong composition. Thanks again

Hi Paul,
I'm glad you like them Thanks for your kind comments

The conversions are excellent, you've done a superb job at bringing out the awesome textures and tones in the icey shapes! I wish we had ice like that in So Cal! I prefer the ice shapes and stream you captured in #2, but find the overall comp in #3 the most harmonious. So I think I agree with Jim's suggestion, though I like seeing the context of the stream.
