We do a form of 4x4 orienteering with gps navigation in a large (10,000 acre +) area. It's tricky to run as we've to jump through all sorts of hoops to get permission to use the land but anyway, it' like a cross between rock crawling, orienteering, mountain trekking and mud wresteling.

I just got a LR 2.2 with some presets from presetopia, so I was playing around with that. They also look like that partly because of the Full Frame body, and nice wide angles.
No waders, but I was right on the very edge of the pond. Because of the ice, he was'nt splashing me :-)
and yes, it can be messy :-) The Forester likes when we run the tough tracks along the firebreaks as it keeps them cleared.
Very cool shots, love the breaking ice behind the rear wheels in the last one. I'd like to see the second one processed like the last one.
I checked out your site, I also especially like 11, 23 and 32. My dad used to do a bit of time trialing, I think I'll have to look up if there is any about and go and try some photos myself.
