p.1 #1 · $300 burning a hole in my pocket.

I was going to get an Elinchrom Deep Octa (I have a 53" Octa) but I am torn between that and a Softlite. So, if I got a Softlite reflector, do I want a 17" or 27" and white or silver. It's hard to find examples and nowhere to rent one. I would mainly want it for portraits of women and children in a studio setting and I also shoot on location indoors and out shooting male and female fitness. I really love "beauty" or "clamshell" style lighting but also think a higher contrast light for the fitness images would be good. Thanks for the suggestions.

Have you seen Joe McNally's Simply Lit? It show examples of most Elinchrom modifiers, including their Softlites (BD). Download here.
