p.1 #1 · Correct way to mount PW and flash on camera

I want to have an on camera flash and a pocketwizard controling my other lights off camera... What is the best way to do this since the PW has to be mounted vertically for best range? I was thinking the flash on a offshoe cord with a bracket then have the pw on a cold shoe that I would mount to the top of the off shoe cord then connect the PW via PC on my 40d (the 40d fires both).

I really don't want to buy the extra bracket and cord though...

What are your opinions?

(the on camera flash is for fill if needed by the way)

velcro - it comes with it! ... and it doesn't have to be vertical, just all the antenna's have to be in same orientation in relation to each other. How much range do you need, such nitpicking is only important once your range starts going in the high hundreds...

The most range I'll probably need is about 1200 feet. Before I read the manual I mounted one vertical on my on camera flash and hung one off of my remote flash.
