Alan,
As a typical American who isn't a member of the National Rifle Association (N.R.A.), I was pleased when British fox hunts decided to leave the foxes out of the "sport." Many ordinary Brits felt the same way, of course, and that's why it ended.
But it must be exciting to be sitting on the ground as a couple of dozen baying beagles gallop by following the scent trail.
I love the fact that the lead dog has both his hind legs off the ground, head down and is totally intent on his task. Also, the fact that none of the dogs is paying any attention to the photographer. They were bred for this and by golly, they're on the trail.
Good work.
Charlie
For a dog lover like myself, this is terrific. Add in the horses and those fabulous trees, and it all comes together for a captivating shot. I like the low perspective here, too.
I checked out the color shot. For me, only the red on the riders competes with this version. The black/white really is the clear winner in my book.
