Here are some odd images I took at our recent butterfly garden visit.
It was an overcast day, and low temperatures, which is not good for butterflies, as they need to air their wings before they can start moving about, being cold blooded. Towards midday, they started flying around, and I managed to catch a few then.
Made extensive use of that Soligor 1.7x C/D4 AF teleconverter here.

I wonder how they did do it. Remember, this was from a visit to a butterfly garden, so they are breeding with them too.
Will see if I can get back there sometime and mbe ask about that.
I have an Orchard Swallowtail pupae from which I don't know when the butterfly's going to emerge. When it's hatched, I'll post some photos from the earlier instar to butterfly stage.
