p.1 #1 · Using an Achiever TZ250 with umbrella off camera
So I'm pretty new to both my Nikon system as well as flash photography. I had a 430 EX on my Canon XTi for a few months, and used that on camera a ton with great results, as well as using it as a slave to a 580. Now that I've switched over, I also inherited all of my father's manual focus stuff, including an Nikon N2000 and Achiever TZ 250 flash.
I am getting an umbrella/stand/adapter soon, and was wondering what my options were as far as triggering it. I've been through a good portion of the Strobist.com stuff, so I know that I can't trigger it with commander mode in my D300. Can I just get a hotshoe cable and use it that way? Do they make them in longer lengths? (Say 10 feet? This might be insane... sorry).

Yeah. I figure buying PW's or cybersyncs is about the price of a new flash (SB600 or even 800/900 with PW's) so I'm trying to find a way to use the Nikon CLS.
Thank you for the feedback. Perhaps I'll just invest in an SB600 for off camera and keep the achiever on camera. There is a way to set the 600 to trigger whenever another flash goes off correct?
