Was wondering if anyone had a chance to compare the following. I would post it in the Canon or Nikon forums, but am not sure I would get unbiased feedback from Canon and Nikon users. I am guessing guys who post here have at one time or the other used all or most of these....

If one had to choose based on
1. Image quality
2. Center or corner sharpness
3. Resolution
4. Flare / Vignetting / PF
5. Fast AF
6. Price to performance ratio

Which of the following zooms would you choose ? Is there a clear winner ?

Canon 24-70mm f2.8 L
Canon 28-70mm f2.8
Canon 24-105mm f4.0 L
Nikon 24-70mm f2.8
Nikon 28-70mm f2.8
Zeiss 24-85mm f3.5-4.5
Tamron 28-75mm f2.8
Tamron 24-135mm f3.5-5.6
Sigma 24-70mm f2.8
Tokina 28-80mm f2.8

Can the Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 AF-S G, which is supposed to be as good as the Nikon 14-24mm f2.8 AF-S G, be adapted to a Canon mount ?

Sorry no experience with any of those lenses, but the Nikon 24-70mm lens can certainly be adapted for use on a Canon using the same Nikon G adapter as the 14-24mm. I'm not certain that would be a good solution for a lens in that focal length range though.
