Two taken in the dark and wet evening, happened to pop down to the village in Schladming to see Advent Market. This where I met this fellow and chipping away.
Both are nice portraits. I like them as they are displayed.
But...if allowed to change one little thing for "improvement" I would eliminate (clone over) the diagonal light fixture "arm" that appears to go to man's head in image #1.
Neat stuff, Gavin. I like the fact that they guy is wearing is heavy winter coat and appears to be in a pretty dark and damp environment while doing this craft. Everything rings of "old school" here.

Thanks Alan
The guy was kind enough to let me take some pictures. Very interesting to talk to, he's studing Greek, "once you've learned the letter's it's not too bad" he says

Hey thanks T-bone.
I was lucky enough to get out and about these days, the day before I was there in the village and it was snowing, just like a scene from Dickens. So I said to myself I'll drop down tomorrow with the camera. On my return the ground snow was replaced by the rain, so the scene I imagined was gone. But all wasn't lost - it's nice when you get a chance to talk to your subject - it just works better. Definitely old school
