I have used it in extreme DOF situations like ring shots, and it is... somewhat helpful.

You know, if the viewfinder didnt get so dark whenever you used it, it might be somewhat useful some of the time. Otherwise, I dont see the point of it.

I'm with deepbluejh. It could be really useful if somehow it didn't get so dark. Turn up the brightness on liveview

wow... love the thoughts on using it for re-assignment and for the things suggested here - such as spot metering is great....

I'll try to use it the next time I do a ring shot and see if it's helpful at all.

Very useful for landscape/architecture etc where you're dealing with deep DOF. But I think this topic is in the wedding photography category? Don't see much use for it here.

+1 another mostly misunderstood part of our equipment. landscape/architecture = yes. Weddings = no
