That would be the Nikkor 50mm f1.4 AI. Good but unexceptional entry in the fast 50 category, not at its best until f4. Personally I like the other Nikkor 50's better, but the 1.4 is capable of good results.
Mawz, did you own that specific lens? Do you know of an internet resource for this lens review.
I have in fact owned that specific lens (the AI version), but the 50/1.4 is optically identical through all versions except the new 50mm f1.4G AF-S, only differences are coating updates and minor tweaks and that's only significant in the change to NIC coating in the early 70's. Some sources indicate optical upgrades with the AI and the AF, but I've never seen any actual evidence of differing performance and it remains a 7 element in 6 group design since the early 60's era Nikkor-S.
