I had the chance to attend a Catholic Wedding in Mazatlan yesterday. Bride and Groom are friends of my son. They asked me to take some shots and via my broken Spanish I thought they didn't have a photographer....I was wrong, talk about paparazzi's and Uncle Bobs!
No less then 8+ photographers and one videographer, not including family and friends. Couldn't resist taking these shots of how they are in your face during the whole ceremony(hour long of course). The photogs were a combo of newspaper, magazine, and others! One guy(not hired) was actually taking crowd/couple shots during the ceremony and then selling them 8x10 prints after the ceremony ended, OMG! Thus I stayed out of the way!
At the reception I learned that videographer and one paid photographer existed. They were really nice and told me that it was a typical wedding at the Cathedral. He showed me some of his work and it was fantastic stuff despite having all the other dudes in his way.
