Alan,
I'd really like to know more about this shot. What can you tell us about the men?
PLEASE, don't anyone take me for politically incorrect or insensitive here. I mean it in an unbiased, yet curious manner. The situation makes them appear to be homeless of sorts. The man on the right looks rather unkept. The man on the left, however, looks well-groomed, yet is sitting on a blanket or cover. Just two guys enjoying a game outside, or more to their plight? Context will sometimes makes the image have even more impact.
Again, no disrespect here.
Thank you T bone and thanks for the question. These two guys work on the great wall trading gifts to tourists. They live rough in the vicinity of the wall. Here they are passing time until the crowds appear.
All the best Alan

Alan,
Kudos on this photograph. I hope you keep posting your China travels forever, because they show the kinds of activities that represent my best memories of foreign travel.
I just started posting my China stuff on the People Forum, but they are all grab and run shots because I was a tour director leading American tour groups, so I had no time to dig into things.
Oh, have I mentioned it? I love this shot!
And your explanation to T-bone was perfect. In most 3rd world rural locations, the idea of bathing every day and putting on clean cloths is an indulgence that has never occurred to the people. To my mind, that is to their credit.

Thanks for the feedback and the support, I had spotted your posts with interest on the other forum threads. I could relate to them very well with there bright colours and masses of people.
