Really nice images!! I love Bodie even though I've never been there, but hope to soon. Your conversions are really spot on too. I have to say I like the Bodie shot best!
Oh! Glad you decided to post your photos for the first time here. I'd sure like to see more of your work! Please come back.
Yeah, these are very interesting images.
The wall has great emotional power, and you have captured some of the intensity.
State capital is a dramatic conversion, but a bit oversharpened for my taste.
Like the glow of the skin offset by the beard detail in the last.
Each are excellent compositions.
I hope you enjoy your time here as your photos are interesting to see and well made and fitting subjects in BW.
IF your photos don't get many comments, I would not take that as a sign of the weakness of the photos, but instead as an indication of the weakness of the forum.
My Simple Suggestion: to add value to a forum like this, add not only your own photos, but also add comments to those photos posted by others.
My favorite of this set of images was the capital building. But that is because I like seeing sculpture and this image with its contrast shows the art well. The "Wall" image is also nice.
Welcome, Dave. The first cannot leave anybody indifferent. There are probably endless ways to photograph the wall, the tough part must be to manage to do it without breaking inside the sphere of privacy, dignity and suffering of the people who came to pay their respects.
My favorite in this trio is the second one, the old Dodge. A timeless image.
