This is quite overwhelming. Love the 3/4 emptiness vs the 1/4 fullness.

Thanks, Santiago. You have a good eye for proportion.

Beautiful. I feel I'm being sucked into the empty space on the left. A type of Vanishing point? I love it.

I have to wonder if there's a story behind the cut in the tree. Could be a natural branch break. But the way the tree is "trimmed" makes me wonder if there could be a "Keep your damned tree on your side of the fence!" story.

No harshness here among ranchers where the trees and the fencelines start and end. The branches to the left are fewer since the tree is constantly buffeted by the winds coming in from the west.

I don't know how you do it, Rick. You capture the softness and the quiet so well. The amount of white in this image is stunning.

Why thank you very much. I live in a quiet, unassuming land for which I am grateful.

A broken disturbing subject with so much seemingly implied in the space on the left. Unsettling, very engaging. I keep coming back to it, feeling a bit haunted. Processing seems just right.

This is just a beautiful image - so simple - less is more - there might be a haiku in there somewhere?

Superb image. Depressing for those of us living in the frozen North.

Terrific image, Rick. Excellent placement of the lone tree, and I love the soft, quiet mood.

the way the tree grows to the left and how you place it, is excellent.

Very captivating! Makes me really want to see through the blinding snow/fog in the empty white space. I am really drawn into this image. Now I've got to get warmed up and get the goose bumps to go down. Well done!

It's really interesting how the white space on the opposite side of the fence seems to be fighting the tree (and winning). Well seen and well shot.
