the LiveView implementation of the k20d is pretty lame. it's not very high refresh rate and magnifying just zooms in on the same resolution source. you get bad pixellation. also 50m at high magnification on a small bird has unstable air column to deal with if the bird is anywhere near the ground on a sunny day.

Herb, I agree that long focal-length photography is ultimately limited by atmospheric conditions. However, a high-mag scope gives the option to get high quality shots of a lot of little birdies within 50m or so.
