These both are very good shots, however the second one is the image that shines for me. I love how you caught the heron in the grass like this. It is a nice and different view of this bird!
I agree that the second picture is better, I think the first one is just odd because of the stones "flowing" out of it's head Good stuff, thanks for sharing
First is a tough one to make look real good with that kind of light unless maybe you have a real low angle and can really lose any BG details, think you did good on the exposure though
#2, I will agree with the valued opinions above, as a thought with a bit tighter crop for me to bring the subject out a bit more
Good show! I would be happy with either, although I like #2 a bit better. These are very hard to catch in the wild. I have had them fly when I was a1/4 mile away, or better. They don't miss much.
I wonder on some of mine that are somewhat like #1, if a better beamer, would be in order?? MORRIS?? I KNOW you would have the answer to this one.
