156.8-448 effectively is what I get with your 1.6 crop body

and with a good quality TC probably good IQ but you will be slower on the AF so BIF might be questionable but not out of the question

There............how's that for IMO

Fantastic combination, I used it to get photos such as these. 100% crops are sharp-itty sharp. I can see you are excited, this lens is bang for the buck and won't let you down, Good luck !! :-)

Excellente ! Shoot some stone walls too....more variety, texture and character to them. See my avatar.
BTW, the 70-200 f/4 +1.4TC will do, but you will enjoy the bare zoom much more.
Congratulations on getting yourself into the L-land, as long as you keep in mind that Canon also make some superior non L lenses like 100 Macro, 15 FE, 60 macro etc.
