p.1 #1 · Help! Pockete Wizard-White lighting- Canon 1-D

Pocket wizard recievier plugged into WL stobe. pocket wizzrd tranmitter works great for triggering strobe. If I put pocket wizzrd on camera hot shoe all works great. When I attach pocket wizard to the camera via the pc connection I get intermited working. Camera is set on manual. Its like some kind of setting in the camera will not let the strobe fire sometimews, I cannot seem to figure out the pattern as to when it will work and when it doesn't . I have already chaged out the cord between the camera and the pocket wizard. The same thing happens when I change camera to Mark 2 or 50 D This is driving me nuts, any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi,

How intermittent is it? Does it work for a while and then sort of stop? I see this happen
with a similar setup (canon 20D to PW) - I find that if I wiggle the pc cable at the camera
end, everything works again for a while, which I think indicates some kind of corrosion/
contamination issue at that point.

I see that most of the "pc tip conditioner"s that are sold have cleaning mentioned in their
spiel, so maybe this isn't that uncommon a problem?...

Best,

rkg

I will give this a try. I have even tried a second cord and it does the same. It kind of acts like some kind of camera setting but I cannot imiagine what.
