I had the pleasure of showing Tim Kuhn and his wife, Marla (who is an avid birdwatcher) around my local haunts.
We had just terrible light--but had fun just the same and got to see a variety of birds.
Here are a few of my images. Taken with the 40D and the 300/2.8 + 2X TC

Very nice Bonnie! You got some better shots then me! My auklet was just too far out as was the Harlequin I have a different angle on the Cormy shack from the next day that I'll post later Great job on the Sanderlings, those little guys were so much fun . Funny I have similar shots and they are Sandpipers Goes to show I'm not too sharp on the shorebirds. Love your muddy teals, I couldn't bring myself to post them all dirty like that
Are you sure Marla didn't spot all the birds for your two and you were just the shooters............you and Timmy Sounds like too much fun, glad to see the variety was there for you as it does look like light was the battle.
Pintail is lovely, I like the coromorant shack though I wonder what is the bird at the very top?? Quite the industrial looking BG, they must like the all the noise A pileated is a wonderful find, nice one Marla So, a Rhinocerous Auklet you say Gonna have to look that one up, as far as I know you just made it up #7 is my favorite, I think Tim had a nice one too
I am sure that was fun, and it seems you are an excellent guide!
Bonnie, how fun! Glad you all had a great time and a good shoot, even though the weather was dreary. Really nice series and I especially like the Pintail. Never even seen an Augklet or a Harlequin
